Music Center a national site for Music Together® Teacher Training, Jan. 16-18! The additional component of our Music Center's initiative is that it is an outreach program which we are taking to many locations in Elkhart County. There will be classes in Goshen, but also in Elkhart, Middlebury and Nappanee beginning in February, which we will be looking to staff with licensed Music Together teachers.
The 3-day training Jan. 16-18 will be led by Music Together co-founder Lili Levinowitz, music researcher and Rowan University professor of music education. You can see details about the training at http://www.musictogether.com/TeacherTrainingWorkshop.
The cost (except for college students) if registering by Dec. 16 is $425, and after that will be $475, however if you are interested in working in our program, we will be glad to talk with you about options for scholarships for your training at our workshop.
College Students: The Music Center will sponsor 4 full scholarships to qualifying students, and after satisfactory completion of the training, we will guarantee employment in our local classes. Those students who are interested but are not selected for the full scholarship, may still qualify for partial subsidy. The full cost of the workshop for college students is $250.
What is needed for becoming a Music Together teacher? You do not need any formal musical or educational background in order to successfully complete our training. You do need to be able to sing in tune with accurate rhythm, and be able to relate well to children and families.

parent-child classes and preschool/childcare programs offer engaging experiences that allow children to develop tonal and rhythm competence with ease. It can be thrilling to teach young children and the adults who love them when it matters most.
